Getting started
OBEATR is a follow-along rhythm game platform for adults (18+). You play along to a beat: a live metronome and a depth guide show you the pace, and the game tells you what to do. There is no scoring. Nobody wins or loses, you simply follow the rhythm.
Two ways to play
- Video games: you pick a video file from your own device and follow its beat map. See Local video for how this works and why OBEATR never hosts videos. Details are in Video games.
- Story games: picture stories that guide you page by page, beat by beat. See Story games.
If you have a compatible toy, it can follow the beat too, via Bluetooth in Chrome. See Devices.
You can also build and share your own games. Start with the video editor or the story editor.
Account and login
Playing requires an account. Sign up with your email and a username, and confirm that you are at least 18 years old. You will get a confirmation email. After that, log in with your email and password. If you forgot your password, use the reset link on the login page. If you turned on two-factor authentication, you also enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

Languages
The interface is available in four languages: English, German, Spanish and French. Use the language switcher in the app to change it.
Install as an app
OBEATR can be installed as a progressive web app (PWA), so it opens in its own window like a normal app. In a supported browser, use the browser's "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" option while you are on the site.
